Go Patriots right? We'll get em next year... This week has been fantastic. I was pretty much out of my area on exchanges with other Elders so it went by really really fast. I saw a lot of miracles and a lot of hearts changed this past week. Me and Bucko are still out here grindin but we started teaching an 18 year old man (man not kid cause Im also 18) named Eduardo. He is from Guatemala and barely speaks English or Spanish he speaks mam i guess its a dialect from there. Most of the time i don't think he really understands what we are teaching him but he can feel the spirit so that's all that matters right? No we are working with him and he is willing to learn. Other than that not much is happening. Love you all!

What missionary work looks like in Del mar haha

Hello outside world. Im 18 years old and already tired of meetings. This week has been long but pretty good overall. Lots of meetings. Mom and Dad I met a member who has a private beach house in Punta Mita so you need to get in contact with them so we can go stay there haha. This week I did some service at the boys and girls club. Met Earnie the coolest homeless guy ever who knows a lot about temples. Watched a broadcast from SLC. Biked again. and talked to a lot of strangers.

We listened to a broadcast and Elder Grow of the 70 spoke. He spoke on the importance of reading the scriptures, praying, and attending church. As a missionary these are the three things that I invite everyone to do. These are also the three things we can do as members to strengthen our faith. So everyone read and pray daily and go to church every week. Simple enough right? Have a great week love you all.

Everything is rough haha. This area is tough. its really humbling though that's for sure. We get transfer calls this Saturday and im pretty sure im leaving but ill find out for sure on Saturday. Yeah its been warming up here a lot lately, gonna be a long summer! haha

Work is slow we cant find the couple of investigators we were teaching, they just disappeared.  Have a great week
love you all.

I guess boxed water is cool now now??!!

Cali Life

February 1, 2016

Hello outside world. This week has been solid. I made like 1000 peanut butter and jelly sanwhiches with old Catholic women for prisoners in Tijuana. The power went out like 10 times on Sunday because of rain and wind. Got a free haircut from a sweet barber. Knocked on who knows how many doors and got told no who knows how many times. Taught an English class. Taught some Guatemalans. Knocked some more doors. That's pretty much how the week went right there.

Yesterday was Stake Conference here and Elder Nash of the seventy was there. He spoke really powerfully on the plan of salvation. He used Ether 2:17 as an example and how we all need to be "tight like unto a dish" meaning we need to make sure the little things are all taken care of and we are able to overcome and trails that we will have in our lives how the Jaredites did in their barges because they were "tight like unto a dish".

im learning tons and loving life. Love you all

6 months out catching up...

January 19, 2016
Hello world. Its been a week that's for sure. So when we all come back we are gonna get some bomb burritos. The things are HUGE!! Me and Elder Bucko are in a new area, the south half of the stake and its great. There are a lot more Hispanic people which is nice. Ya puedo hablar un poquito mas de espanol. So that has been nice even though its not much more.We biked again this past week and its been about 2 months and it was a mistake. Rough times. This past week me and Bucko went out with our stake president, President Clark. Such a cool guy. He speaks Spanish so it was fun. We went with him to give a blessing to a member and the Priesthood is so real. Its been a solid week. Love you all

(MORE written to us...)
. . Ive had a lot of experiences  and miracles happen but I just don't like to share them. My new area is awesome. We are still in the same zone but now we have different areas to work and there are more Hispanics here its great. And we have a super sweet apartment like a mile from the beach. Some days it feels like a complete waste of time but then some little thing will happen and I just know im out here for a reason. I am really happy to be out here.

Ive been messaging coach T a lot lately, he said he was sad to hear about the move. I started working out at nights and drinking my protein shakes. You would be proud I make a special big one like the ones you made to drink in the mornings.

Yeah i burned a tie for 6 months, i almost forgot about it too! That was at Hna. Del Villars house, she is my fav member shes awesome.

January 25, 2016

First off time isn't even a thing anymore I feel like I wrote you guys yesterday. But this week has been fast and good. On Tuesday me and Elder Bucko taught an English class for people in the area who know no English. So that was an adventure but we did have a lady show up and we taught her English and it turned out we had knocked on her door before and she remembered us haha. But yeah teaching was actually super fun even if it was just English and not a lesson. We watched a broadcast from SLC about missionary work. Basically "Teach Repentance and Baptize Converts". It was a good refresher. I went on exchanges with Elder Allen and we were used for our free manual labor and helped a woman move her furniture for a couple hours. It was a fun week and there is always something interesting or new that happens.
Im doing good. Work is tough here. Really tough. We don't have any investigators right now but are trying to work with a couple of families that are somewhat interested. Itll pick up eventually but its the grind right now.

I hear my patriots lost yesterday. That's disappointing I was hoping for Brady to get his 5th

Week 26

Well this past week it rained and rained and rained some more. It was fun for a couple of minutes though. Its been a good week though. We had a flash flood warning and a tornado warning so we spent a little time inside and it was nice to take a little break. The transfer ended yesterday and me and Bucko are sticking together but we will be moving to the area that covers the south half of the stake now. Should be a fun time down there. In the Spanish branch im in right now probably 85% of the members are converts. Its different because it isn't that Mormon culture that I have grown up with and it can get interesting at times haha. A lot of great people though and im loving the members in this branch. Im not dead don't worry and that's all I got for this week.
This week has been a lot better but it rained and rained and rained some more. It was fun but terrible haha. Definitely saw some miracles though.
Take care everyone and have a great week!

AND since Elder Romney writes little heres his companions take of the week :)
"So, last Monday, after all our P-Day activities, we went to try to see a potential investigator. We had set up an appointment over the phone, and he had told us to meet at his dad's house, who's a member. So, we came at the time he wanted, but he wasn't there. We weren't too disappointed though, so we just decided to have a short lesson with the member that lives there. He said he was up to 3 Nephi 27 in his reading of the Book of Mormon, so we decided to talk to read the chapter with him. We were reading for a few minutes, and his non-member sister popped in and started reading with us. 20 minutes later, we had read some verses about Christ's true church, how it should be of his name, and have the proper authority to perform the ordinances of Baptism and reception of the Gift of the Holy Ghost, and committed her to be baptized! I absolutely loved that evening, the Spirit was so strong! She was busy and couldn't come to church yesterday, but she said she'll come this week"

...His new area will be covering Rancho Santa Fe, Del Mar Carmel Valley and Solano Beach

catching up week 23,24,25

Week 23 Dec 21

First off STAR WARS WAS SWEET!!!!! such a good movie im glad they didn't ruin it.

But this past week has been great. I gave a talk in my branch on Sunday on The Christmas Spirit and it was super cool giving a talk in Spanish. I wouldn't call it a talk cause there were like 15 members in the congregation lol. I love this little branch though they are all great strong people who are so willing. I hope everyone has a great week and a Merry Christmas! Make sure to look for opportunities to serve those around you and always remember the true meaning of why we celebrate Christmas. Also I didn't watch Star wars don't worry haha.

Week 24 Dec 28

Hey fam long time no see. It was rad seeing yall again you are all still punks haha. But this past week was so much fun. We had a mission wide Christmas party and so we got to see all the missionaries in the area and they are all so much fun. We had a talent show and all the Spanish misisonaries sang and danced to a Spanish song and all dressed up it was great. Christmas day was so much fun. I love my families here and friends here. We got up super early to ball with all the other Elders then had a sweet nativity seen and read Luke 2 together. The Morenos (my fam in Carlsbad) invited us over for Christmas dinner and it was so much fun seeing them again. Hope everyone has a great week and good luck moving!

Week 25 Jan 4 2016

Well missions are rough. They don't lie when they say its hard. Its hard but rewarding. Ive learned so much in these past couple of weeks but mostly that challenges are put in our life to help us grow. It was testimony meeting in our branch yesterday and every member that bore their testimony bore it about Heavenly Father helping them with their trials. Me and Elder Bucko visited a recent convert who is the most humble man I have ever met in my life. He rents a single room from a guys apartment for him and his wife and his kid to stay in. He works day to day just to get a long. He has had a lot of challenges lately and hasn't been able to work very much and we asked him to pray after we taught him a lesson in a sketch laundry room (cause his land lord wont let missionaries in) and he said a long prayer just thanking Heavenly Father for every single challenge and struggle he has had in these past couple of weeks. It was a humbling moment for me cause I know I have been focused more on myself this past week rather than others. Heavenly Father knows exactly what you need and exactly when you need it. I hope everyone has a great week and focuses on others rather than themselves, that's when we are truly happy

(More written to mom and dad)....When people say missions are rough they mean it. Not so much physically but it mentally and spiritually grinds on you. This past week has been super tough. Its getting hard to stay motivated in this area and it is bothering me so so so bad that I have to find motivation. This area is tough. Ive learned a lot of humility and patience though so that's something positive.

This past week has been a long one. Ive definitely been learning a lot of humility lately. Im super greatful for everything I have. Especially for you guys that have always been great. Enjoy the fam and the change Mom you have no idea how happy reading that email made me. I have been praying so hard all week for gunner and tate to make friends over there. That is awesome. Im super super super glad that there are so many youth and so much family over there for you guys. Sounds like a good move!. The ward sounds awesome. That's sweet youre so close to family now. I love it. . Its gonna be an adventure for you all and I know its probably rough leaving EP but I really think it was a good move.

week something (22)

First of all the Allen Christmas tree is sweet. Our only Christmas decoration in the apartment right now! Thanks fam I have the best family in the world. Also this past week I saw a lady walking her turtle on the sidewalk. Yes a turtle. The things you see in California...

Well you know how I always complained when we had to carol at Christmas time? Now its my favorite. So weird I know... We went caroling as a zone this past week and just being with all those missionaries and singing to people was so much fun and the Spirit was so strong with us. I love this time of year. Its great as a missionary cause people will actually listen to you haha.

I hope everyone has a great Christmas season and looks for ways to help others. There are people everywhere who are waiting for somebody to help. I love you all thanks for all the support.

Don't worry Mom Del Mar is taking care of me this branch is awesome even though the missionary work is so hard here!

Walking around eating ice cream and looking at Christmas lights LOL!

Craziness week 21

This week has been all over the place. I am half training Elder Bucko He is from New York and speaks very little spanish so that has been rough and he doesnt talk alot either but he is starting to open up and we are working it hard. so that has been fun. I met Braxtons cousin this past week so that was crazy. I sang with 4 other youth at our branch Christmas party and it sounded terrible but was so much fun. I saw Jeff Allen at the Christmas concert on  last night and he came and gave me a hug and we are gonna go over for dinner some time haha. Bishop Romney is in the same building as me and i see him all the time and there are tons of other romneys here that im some how related to. Its a great area i love it. Just the work is rough here and the branch is so small. Our branch had the most powerful testimony meeting ever. Its been a very eventful week and it has been so much fun. The days are going by way too fast it needs to slow down!

Work is harder here but im used to it now so its just normal. Missions are challenging but its life. I have grown so much from what i have noticed and on saturday night i cried to Heavenly Father for the first time. It was probably an experience that changed my mission. I am so blessed in my life with everything and im so selfish for not sharing everything i have with those who are in need, especially the gospel. Thanks for raising me right.
